Obligatory confirmation for editing a posting

Forums can be configured in a way that postings only appear after confirmation by a moderator. This is working fine ...
However, users can change their postings once activated!
Thus, the entire feature is spoiled because there is no way for the moderator to effectively control what appears within the forum.
