Abandon Levels of Details and Movability of Side Blocks on PD
Page Overview
[Hide]1 Initial Problem
Users do not get the different Levels of Details of the Side Blocks of the Personal Desktop. The Levels of Details thus add unwanted complexity.
2 Conceptual Summary
- There is only one Level of Detail for Side Blocks which is not configurable.
- On the Personal Desktops Sideblocks can no longer be moved around by users.
- Hiding / Showing Side Blocks via Top Actions-Dropdown is not longer possible.

7 Discussion
Seiler, Yvonne [yvseiler], 20.12.2018: Thanks for the great overview, I was able to find my way around quickly. I support this suggestion and thank you for the fact that - from our point of view - very few used functions that offer only little added value are omitted.
One little hint to think about:
Calendar View Mode: The left one should be the default mode. In our opinion "Month" should be default view of marginal calendar in side blocks, for that it should be the first one: Month | Upcoming Events.
- For me it is unclear which level of detail for a block is kept. The FR says only "one" - but which? And which type of information is presented there?
- Why do we need to abandon the option to move the blocks (within the same column because we move to a two-column-layout)? No one needs to change the order of the blocks. But those who prefer to have the Mail block first should do this while others prefer to have the Calendar first.
- I strongly recommend to keep "Upcoming Events" as default presentation of the mini calendar. It gives much better guidance to the user than the month view which is more for overview.
- Top actions for blocks (no more change of sorting, no hiding)
- Setting to enable moving blocks
- Moving blocks feature
