Update User Plugin/Event

1 Description

A core plugin slot for 'Before Update User' and 'After Update User' events would make some nice features possible

• Check fields contain valid input values (i.e. 'age'-field between 10 and 99)
• Update data in 3rd party systems (i.e. address changes in ILIAS => address change in accounting system)
• Assign roles according to personal profile settings

The 'Before Update User' slot is able to break update and display an error message.

4 Discussion

JF 11 Jan 2010: We already have a basic Event plugin slot. We must trigger these desired events, which should be easy to do. But we currently do not have a mechanism to control "return values" like needed in the "update user input check" scenario.
