Interactive Video - mark questions on playback progress bar

1 Initial Problem

At the moment you have no indication where an interactive action exists in the video. With this feature it is possible to see the interaction on the timebar.

2 Conceptual Summary

Questions should be marked visually on the playback progress bar with little lines/dots. These markings show the learner where questions will appear.

  • Caveat: suprise effect will be lost.
  • There will be a setting "mark question positions on video playback bar" to allow surprise scenarios
  • comments should not be marked on the progress bar to avoid clutter.
When the feature "Table of contents" is developped: Also the beginning of a chapter should be indicated.
  • The setting will be renamed to "Mark object positions on video playback bar" > Default: On
  • When activated sub-setting appears:
    • Mark questions > Default: On
    • Mark chapters > Default: On
    • Mark comments > Default: Off
  • To differentiate between questions, chapters and comments:
    • Questions = ? (question mark)
    • Chapters = lines
    • Comments = dots
