Finishing a learning module as precondition

1 Description

Up to now, the finishing status of learning modules can be tracked, however, this status information cannot be used for controlling the learning process.
Therefore, it would be helpful to make finishing a learning module available as a precondition for the access to other learning objects.

2 Status

  • Scheduled for Release: Release 5.0
  • Funding: FH Aachen
  • Maintainer: Stefan Meyer
  • Development: Feature is to be developed by

4 Discussion

Matthias Kunkel, 13 Sep 2013: I add this request to the JF agenda to discuss its implementation in ILIAS 4.5.

JF 6 Jan 2014: We appreciate this feature and schedule it for 4.5.

5 Implementation

Feature has been implemented for 5.0.

Finishing a learning module can now be set as a precondition to access another object.

Precondition is defined in ‘Availability’ settings, tab ‘Preconditions’ of the ‘Actions’ menu.

Condition is ‘Derive from Learning Progress’. Therefore, it depends from the selected learning progress mode of a learning module what a users has to do to reach the ‘Completed’ status, e.g. ‘Number of Visits’, ‘Typical Learning Time’ or correctly answered ‘Questions’ within the learning module.
