Optimizes User-Search in exercises
1 Description
Precondition: I do have a course "A statistics course" and a "Testkurs 1" in http://www.ilias.de/test40x.
If I search for ´a statistics´ or for ´Testkurs 1´, the first result is the result i want.
But if i search with the same terms (´a statistics´ or ´Testkurs 1´)
=> in an exercise
=> tab members
=> button "add members"
=> Field" Search for Course Members (Course Name)"
then the first result should be the same - like in global search. (see pictures)
Global Search, ´Testkurs 1´
Exercise Search, ´Testkurs 1´

4 Discussion
JF 14 Dec 2009: We understand the problem and agree that an improvement would be desirable. We need to discuss this with Stefan, who is on vacation.
JF 11 Jan 2010: There are several problems: The course/group role does not use the Lucene search. Lucene sort by relevance the standard search does not. Using Lucene everywhere through the system where search/filters are provided is not possible, since the effort would be to high. Another problem of Lucene is that the index is not immediately up-to-date when new items are created, e.g. when you create a new role or user, you assume that a search will immediately list it in the results. Our current preferred solution is to do only content related search via Lucene.
