After creation redirect to Forum Settings

This feature request is a part of the Calendar Revision III.

1 Initial Problem

If a forum is newly opened, the input field for a new forum thread appears directly. There are several reasons, why this behaviour is irritating:

  • However, it is not always mandatory that a first thread is created when a forum is created. It is irritating for users that they already have to create a thread, although they may simply want to open the "container" forum and have the content created by the other users.
  • The note "Forum added" no longer receives much attention, because users are surprised by the new thread form that appears.
  • Users also don't know exactly what the difference is between "create a forum" and "create a thread", because everything is done in one step (at least the first time the forum is created).
  • In addition, according to the Guideline 'Creation of Repository Objects', once the object has been created, you should go to the "Settings" of the object to make the necessary settings there.
All these reasons show that the current behaviour when creating a forum should be changed.

2 Conceptual Summary

  • Add new Forum without promting to add a new Thread
  • Conclusion: After adding you would see "Settings" tab
