Presentation Type Sessions View for Groups

This feature request is a part of the Calendar Revision III.

1 Initial Problem

Courses and groups are very similar, but there are functions that only exist for one object and not for the other. One of these functions is the presentation type "Session View".

Users can add sessions to a group (as in Courses) but there is no way to group all sessions and limit how many sessions are displayed.
If there are a large number of sessions in a group, it is currently not possible to limit this display of the sessions. The user must search the entire list of all sessions until he or she finds the current session.

2 Conceptual Summary

We would like to introduce the "Session View" feature from the course settings as new presentation type for groups (same functionalities).

• Group > Settings > Group Settings > (Group Presentation Section)
• Group > Content

Changes in the form shown in the groups settings.

3.3 New User Interface Concepts

No new UI Concept.

4 Technical Information

The "previous", "next" links in the content presentation are no kitchen sink elements.
There are known issues regarding the session content presentation if the page editor is used for the customization of content pages (sorting of materials, presenation of prev-next links). These issues are not part of this feature request.
