Copyright filter for media objects

1 Initial Problem

Filtering for media objects in a media pool by using LOM is currently only supported for

• 'Title',
• 'Keyword',
• 'Caption' and
• 'Format',

See overleaf Screenshot.

If we want to push the use of Open Educational Resources published under Creative Commons licences, we need to support educators to find such objects easily.

2 Conceptual Summary

The filters in Mediapool > All Media Objects are implemented as KS-Filters.  

If copyright selection is enabled for an installation, the available filters on screen 'All Media Objects' are extended by a filter element "Copyright" that allows to select objects tagged with …

• … any licence
• … one of the activated copyright defaults [1] of this installation
• … 'Own Copyright Information'

An additional filter of type 'Dropdown' is added.

• Filter title would be 'Copyright'.
• Available filter values in the dropdown would be:
  • All
  • Copyright default 1
  • Copyright default 2
  • Copyright default n
  • Own Copyright Information

Kunkel, Matthias [mkunkel], 10 OCT 2022: KS Filter is already supporting checkboxes, see Plugin administration or Cronjob administration (see below). We could use it here as well.

• Tödt, Alexandra [atoedt] form OER Workshop on 2022-10-12: The date filter is still missing as well as other filter elements that could be used in Custom Metadata: Location, float, Adress and else. Need tofind a way to work around these issues.
