Individual grouping for selected items and my courses and groups
Page Overview
[Hide]1 Initial Problem
By the time, there are more and more items on the personal desktop and you do not want to remove all of them but want to have better structuring options.
2 Conceptual Summary
In order to structure your selected items for your own purposes, it should be possible to group the items individually.
Within these groups, the items should be sorted alphabetically in ascending order.
If you have chosen this sorting option, all items are shown within the grouping “new / not allocated yet” first (this grouping is always shown on top, if there are items that are not allocated yet). You can add new groupings via a new button “manage groupings” (within the new screen that is shown after a click on “individual grouping”). The screen “Manage groupings” is similar to the accordion screen.
If possible the grouping options should be available in both views: Overview and My Courses and Groups.

3.3 New User Interface Concepts
{If the proposal introduces any completely new user interface elements, please provide a link to separate feature wiki entries for each of them according to the kitchen sink template.}

7 Discussion
Killing, Alexander [alex]: I definitely agree that with the current way we present information on the PD things get difficult if users deal with many items. But I am not sure if manual grouping of things is the best way to keep an overview. So this relates also to my comment on the Separate box for Personal Desktop Items page. I would prefer to have a broader discussion for 5.4 (inlcuding Page Layout Revision (Desktop)) and include this particular issue here.
8 Implementation
{The maintainer has to give a description of the final implementation and add screenshots if possible.}
