ILIAS page editor for starting page

1 Initial Problem

The page with the starting objects of a course gives only a short hint what to do here. There is no option to add additional information like a text, links or an image.

2 Conceptual Summary

  • The page with the starting objects of a course should also allow to add content by using the ILIAS page editor. It would be sufficient to use it in an area between headline and the list of starting objects.

7 Discussion

AT 2017-04-26: The Starobject-Screen does offer the Page Editor. However I am concerned about it, too.
Issues with status in 5.2

  • The start object(s) are displayed in a table-cum-headline item.
  • The generic headline "start object" does not speak to users. This is technical language. 
  • The generic by-line is smal and easily overlooked. 
  • The table is not visually appealing 
  • The "Accomplished" column is unique to ILIAS. The initially displayed red dot with a cross looks like I failed something or some warning. 
Suggested Improvements for 5.3 
  • Do not show users a table. A normal List GUI wouöd be much better. 
  • Preferably I could have something like an Item Group:
    • allows for sorting 
    • allows editing a headline or hiding a headline
  • The "Accomlished" column should be removed altogether: either the learning progress is active and I see my Status or it is deactivated and then It is not shown. If one object is completed while others on the list are not I would prefer the completed object to simply disappear from the list thus only the "to do"-objects are listed. 
  • On this Page I personally would very much appreciate a Page-Editor Element "Tutorial Support" I could stamp on this page to make it easy for users to reach out for help. This could be an extension of the "Insert Personal Data" -element from the Portfolio.
