Plugin Slot for user profile data (UDF)

1 Initial Problem

User defined data fields (UDF) offer the possibility to enhance the user profile data by custom configuration. The current implementation of UDFs offer the the following field type:

• Text
• Selection List
• Text Area (Wysiwyg)

The integration of more complex user data fields supporting installation specific usage scenarios is not supported.
We want to implement a new plugin slot that offer the possibility to implement new UDF-definitions.

2 Conceptual Summary

The new plugin slot allows the configuration, presentation and to search for UDF definition types.

The following ILIAS sections will be a adapted to support UDF plugin definitions:

• UDF confguration in Administration -> User Account
• Presentation in Personal Profile
• User account registration
• User search
• Assignment for LDAP and Shibboleth assignments
• Presentation in global/local/orgUnit user managment
• Import/export of user data
• Presentation in Learning Progress and course/group member

3.2 User Interface Details

Only a new plugin slot will be added to ILIAS. No changes of UI elements.

3.3 New User Interface Concepts

No new user interface elements.

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 16 JUL 2018 : We highly appreciate this suggestion and schedule the new plugin slot for 5.4. Stefan will check if this slot can re-use the existing UDF claiming plugin slot and become a general UDF plugin slot.
