[Hide]Related feature request: Plugin Slot for PDF generation
1 Initial Problem
This is a split from Plugin Slot for PDF generation, since all seem to agree that PhantomJS would be a good alternative for PDF generation in the Ilias Core. We don't think the integration of PhantomJs should be depending on the PDF Plugin Slot.
2 Conceptual Summary
Add PhantomJS to the ILIAS core, so it is possible for the developers to use this as alternative to TCPDF and FoP.

7 Discussion
JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], Nov 21, 2016: We appreciate the feature request for a PDF plugin slot and schedule it for 5.3. As already decided in October, PhantomJs shall become part of the ILIAS core as alternative PDF engine to TCPDF. All ILIAS components MUST work with either TCPDF or PhantomJs and must not rely on a plugin. We will monitor if the PDF plugin slot will lead to practice where modules or features are improved against a PDF plugin instead of improving the PDF generation in the core.
8 Implementation
