GUI for Chat in Repository: New Button to Enter the Chat from Info Page

1 Initial Problem

The SIG Learning Communities realized that requesting the Content screen is the only way to enter a ILIAS repository chat object.

2 Conceptual Summary

If a user enters the Info screen of a chat, a new primay button should be displayed letting users easily enter the chat (when read permission is given).

• Info screen: A new primary button should be introduced named Teilnehmen (de)/Participate (en). This button should be added to the general toolbar UI element.

7 Discussion

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], Sep 26, 2016: We reject this suggestion. We still want to remove the Info page for several components. Adding this button to the Info page would make this more difficult. Users with READ permission are directed straight to the VIEW tab and do not need to have a button to go there from the Info page.
