Define a default Glossary for a Learning Module for automatic application of terms

1 Description

Up to now, Glossary terms can only be linked into an ILIAS Learning Module if they aleady exist within a Glossary.
In order to make it easier to use Glossary term internal links, a facility similar to the one for new Wiki pages could be provided, i.e.:

  • The edit mode of a text paragraph features a button 'Glossary term' that creates some code around the marked text and, by that, a link pointing to a Glossary term.
  • Parallelly, that term is automatically applied within a specific Glossary. There are two conceivable ways to realize that:
    • An existing Glossary is selected by a new option as the default Glossary of a specific Learning Module, so the terms are automatically created within it.
    • As soon as Glossary terms are created that way in a Learning Module, a Glossary is automatically created in order to contain them.

The suggestion works well if you use the ILIAS content editor to produce new LMs because you edit all paragraphs anyway. If you produce your content without the ILIAS editor and import it, you do not want to change every paragraph again for the glossary terms. There is another proposal for creating automatic glossary links that can be used also for imported learning modules.
