Administration Setting for Toasts (Instant Notifications)
1 Requirements
Background
Why an additional KS-Entry: Toast setting in the ILIAS-admin is needed:
- A teacher uses ILIAS in a course with 600 students - it would be VERY annoying for the teacher when dozens of students would start to approve-contacts, or when dozens of students navigate in the ILIAS-classroom.
- Depending on the Who-is-Online Setting, ILIAS would show those Toasts. This could be extremely annoying.
Additional Popover-Settings:
- Show/do not the "Who is Online"-Toast
- Show/do not show "Contact Request"-Toast
- Popover Show/do not show "Chat"-Toast

3 Discussion
Weber, Frank [franklin66] 1.4. 2016: I appreciate and support this idea. We upgraded to ILIAS 5.1.2 in February and feedback shows that users find the "online now" -Popup-Layer intruding. There should be a possibilty to deactivate this popup in the administration panel of the awareness-tool. Right now, the only way to get rid of the popup is to deactivate the awareness-tool at all. There should also be a possibility to individually block the awareness - information. So if a user is just not interested in who else is online he isn't bothered with that information, even if the tool has been activated by the ILIAS administration.
Zenzen, Enrico [ezenzen], 16 SEP 2022: This request no longer fulfills the requirements of the Feature Wiki. In consultation with the maintainer I change the status of the feature request to "Redundant / outdated". If the request is still relevant, please update template and mockups.
