Improve Info-Tab for Selected Objects

This project is a sub-project of Revision of Info Page.

1 Requirements

1.1 "Start"-tab 

The  Info page becomes a Start-tab for the following objects:

• Survey
• Test 
• Learning Module SCORM
• Learning Module HTML 
• Learning Module ILIAS 

For Learning Module HTML and Learning Module ILIAS the information and actions conerning the individual Learning Progress are moved to a new learner view in "Learning Progress" tab.

1.2 "Download"-tab 

The Info page becomes a Download-tab for one object: 

• File

Info page for files is mainly used to display Download button and file information. It is to be replaced by a dedicated "Download" tab - similar to the "Content" tab of other objects.
This would also be a good place for the News block.

1.3 "Info"-tab

The Info page is kept /improved for the fowlloing objects: 

• Info page for courses and groups is kept.  OR it may be extended:
  • Infotab can be editied by the page editor. 
  • Plus the functionality of the Course Information subtab/link from the Settings Tab is migrated to the Info-tab, so people still can create a pre-structured look.
  • This Course Information could be extended to contain a cover picture.
  • The page replaces the Join / Unsubscribe Tabs and dialogues. Instead a big fat green button "Join" respectively "Unsubscribe" is displayed and these requests are dealt with on this page. Alas, we are not sure about this since not all courses allow joining. 
• Info page for Sessions is kept.  It was considered to relable it as "Attend"-tab, however indicating attention is not always required. The same goes for "Materials" since there are not neccessarily always materials.
• Info page for Wikis is kept. It was considered to relable it as "Introduction"-tab.  If labels for the above objects are changed, "Introduction" should be considered. 
• Info page for Study Programme is kept to present Custom Metadata.

3 Discussion

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], May 23, 2016: We had a longer discussion of the both related feature requests Remove Info Tab For Selected Object Types  and Improve Info-Tab for Selected Objects. But we unable to find a solution and therefore postpone the discussion. Objections are:

• With a general removal of the Info page we get lost of a screen that exists for every object and could be improved in the future (Cover paradigm).
• We loose the only place user could be dumped to in case of emergency.
• Notes and comments should have an own place to be presented outside the Actions dropdown.
• The suggestion to make the presentation of the Info page configurable per object is considered by some as even worse.
• The suggestion to show object information like "Object ID" or "Created by" on a "Properties" tab in Settings is not accepted by all. Info page should not only focus on the "learner" but also on the "teacher".
• All objects with custom metadata and LOM metadata would have no place anymore to present this data if the Info screen disappears.

Zenzen, Enrico [ezenzen], 02 SEP 2022: This request no longer fulfills the requirements of the Feature Wiki. In consultation with the maintainer I change the status of the feature request to "Redundant / outdated". If the request is still relevant, please update template and mockups.
