Abandon JAVA Path in Setup

1 Requirements

The former SCORM 1.2-RTE based on JAVA is outdated and has been replaced a long time ago by a JavaScript RTE. But the Setup still offers an entry for JAVA path (and some people still think that JAVA is necessary in ILIAS to run SCORM modules).

I suggest to get rid of this input in the setup with 5.1 to avoid misunderstandings and to prevent administrators from entering pathes that won't be used anymore.

3 Discussion

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], Nov 09, 2015: We highly appreciate to abandon the JAVA path in the setup as the JAVA RTE is no longer used.

Kohnle, Uwe [ukohnle], Nov 16,2015: Without the JAVA RTE the outdated standards AICC and HACP will also be abandoned.
