Deletion of multiple list groups in ListGUI

1 Requirements

Unlike for all other repository objects, it is not possible to delete several list groups at once. You have to delete every single item group by using the Actions menu dropdown, select ‘Delete’ and confirm the deletion. This is quite annoying when you restructure a category and you want to get rid of existing item groups.

Situation in 5.0: I can delete multiple objects within an item group in Manage view - but not the item group itself.

Suggestion

Item groups get check boxes in Manage view as well and can be deleted with other objects together. If an object within an item group is marked for deletion, it is deleted as well (current behaviour). If only the item group is marked but not its content, only the item group is deleted and its content is kept (like it is today when you delete the item group via Actions.

3 Discussion

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], Nov 09, 2015: We highly appreciate the suggestion and schedule it for 5.2. Checkboxes shall be placed in front of the item groups when Manage view is chosen.

Zenzen, Enrico [ezenzen], 24 AUG 2022: This request no longer fulfills the requirements of the Feature Wiki. In consultation with the maintainer I change the status of the feature request to "Redundant / outdated". If the request is still relevant, please update template and mockups.
