Import form of SCORM LM should be adapted to reflect the actual functionality

1 Requirements

This feature request is based on bug report #17101. Florian Suittenpointner and I found out that the import of a SCORM LM in format SCORM 1.2 is confusing: The form allows me to select BOTH the SCORM 1.2 format AND the authoring mode - but it won’t import the LM in authoring mode. Instead, it will import the module in the RTE.

Either of two things needs to be done, depending on an informed decision:

  1. Adapt the form: Grey out "Authoring mode" when user selects SCORM 1.2 (and, likely, AICC and HACP).
  2. Adapt the import: If it IS possible to edit SCORM 1.2 (and AICC and HACP) modules with authoring mode, make sure it doesn’t import the LM into the RTE when the checkbox is active.
Alex Killing suggested a separated accordion section for importing the authoring version in the bug report discussion, so this could be another option. Even better from a user perspective would be a smarter import that recongnizes your format. As I’m not personally using SCORM LMs (only stumbled on the issue as tester of import and export), I will leave it to the maintainers and other interested parties to decide on this.
