transpond the view of access rights: switch vertically/horizontally
1 Requirements
Today, the rights by role are arranged horizontally.
With more roles to display, its getting more and more unclear to view, because the width of this section where the roles are displayed, will extend and expands more and more.
Example:
The new design would better for mobile usage and allows a better handling with a large list of roles.

3 Discussion
JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], Dec 07, 2015: We appreciate an improvement of the presentation of object permission and see the current problems of large permission tables. But we refuse the solution to just switch from vertical to horizontal presentation of the permissions. Instead, we prefer to have more filters and options to fit the screen to the actual need of each user. Examples:
- a new filter "Show only selected roles" with a multiselect which allows to present only those roles one would like to modify
- a new filter "Hide roles with no permissions"
Hesse, Joel [Joel_Hesse] Is a combination of both ideas possible? I am unable to retrace your denial. In my opinion the switch wouldn't be a disadvantage to ILIAS.
By the way: more buttons will make this site even more text-heavy - two simple icons would be better?

The majority of the members of the SIG Corporate which voted at the 7th of September 2016 in Utrecht appreciate this feature request and ask the maintainer and the ProductOwner to consider the trunk-integration of this feature in a reasonable way as soon there is a funding available.
Zenzen, Enrico [ezenzen], 18 AUG 2022: This request no longer fulfills the requirements of the Feature Wiki. In consultation with the maintainer I change the status of the feature request to "Redundant / outdated". If the request is still relevant, please update template and mockups.
