Abandon Feature - Predefined Passwords

1 Requirements

Administration > User Management > Settings > General Settings > Pre-defined Passwords

This feature as initially been implemented to prevent that users choose too simple insecure passwords. However it works with a limited number of possible combinations and in the meantime other password options (length, force special characters, ...) have been implemented that are generally more accepted to achieve the goal of more secure passwords. Additionally the feature has not consistently supported, e.g. in the password assisstance, see bug #4134. The JourFixe has suggested to abandon this feature.

Jour Fixe, October 12, 2015: We highly appreciate this request and decide to abandon this feature with 5.2.

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], JUL 25, 2016: Funding is needed to remove the feature for 5.2.
