Separate Options for Show ‘List of Questions’ and Dashboard

1 Requirements

In ILIAS 5.1 the setting "Show ‘List of Questions’" does two things at once:

  • In the test a button "Dashboard" is presented that provides access to an overview of all test questions, their answer-status, their flagged-status and so forth.
  • In the test a button "Hide List of Questions" resp. "Show List of Questions" is presented. Users can switch on / off the small navigation on their left hand side.
We think is it most unfortunate that one setting controls two things. We want two indepentent options for those two features:
  1. Checkbox "Show Dashboard" to get the respective button and view.  We suggest to present the view as a modal not as a table.
  2. Checkbox "Show 'List of Questions'" to get the "Hide List of Questions" / "Show List of Questions" buttons. In addition to this we would like to have a sub-option to be able to force-show the List of Questions, denying our partipants the option to hide the list.

3 Discussion

25.8.2016. Martin Klehr: We (Philipps-Universität Marburg) highly appreciate this feature. In some scenarios we would like to get rid of the list of questions while keeping the dashboard. Please note that there is another feature request Show question marking in sidebar questionlist which maybe could be discussed in this context, too.

4 Implementation
