Push notifications
1 Requirements
Many users are not "living" inside ILIAS. They log in for a task and close the windows when finished. The time window for notifications can be very small. For this reason it would be useful, if notifications would reach users even when they are not logged into ILIAS.
On MacOS X this can be done (since Mavericks) with Safari Push notifications, which work even when the browser is closed. Using such a notification service would allow ILIAS notifications to reach users at any time, making the social community function much more immersive and useful for many (if not most) users.
(There may be a similar service in Windows, which is also used by Skype and other communication apps).
