Abandon SCORM 1.2-Emulation

1 Requirements

The maintainer of the SCORM component in ILIAS, Uwe Kohnle, asks for removal of the SCORM 1.2 emulation within the SCORM2004 player.

Aktuell ist es noch möglich, SCORM 1.2-Lernmodule im SCORM2004-Player (mit Einschrämkungen) laufen zu lassen.

Das ist keine wirklich gute Idee, da viele SCORM-WBTs sowohl für SCORM2004 als auch für SCORM 1.2 gebaut sind und hier in der Regel abfragen, ob die API für SCORM 2004 oder SCORM 1.2 vorliegt. Wenn zuerst die API für SCORM 1.2 abgefragt und erkannt wird, dann laufen Lernmodule, die eigentlich SCORM 2004 könnten, im SCORM2004-Player zumeist als SCORM 1.2-Module und das heißt, dass Einschränkungen vorhanden sind und Irritationen entstehen können.

Also im Klartext: Ich will diese SCORM 1.2-Emulation im SCORM2004-Player für ILIAS 5.1 streichen.

Ich vermute, dass diese Emulation reinkam als ILIAS noch die SCORM 1.2-Java-API hatte.

Schwierigkeiten würden beim Update auf 5.1 entstehen wenn bewusst SCORM 1.2-Lernmodule im SCORM2004-Player genutzt wurden.

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], August 17, 2015: We appreciate the suggestion to abandon the 1.2 emulation. But we need a feedback at first, if anyone is running SCORM 1.2 under 2004 API - and if anyone has objections to do this. As today is the last JF before beta, we cannot schedule this change for 5.1 anymore - but schedule it for 5.2.
