Embedded Folders in Courses

1 Requirements

Folders can be used to structure content in courses.

We suggest a new option 'embedded folders' which will list all content of top-level folders inside a course (similar to embedded content of sessions inside a course). See the screenshots for details. Nested folders will *not* be embedded - only the top-level folders.

This allows to structure the course in terms of 'learning units' (=folders). Each embedded folder might have an href-anchor (ref-id?), so it is possible to link this embedded folder directly, those URLs could look like http://www.ilias.de/goto_ilias5_crs_123.html#fold_456.

Note: It should be possible to combine this with the tile-view (see Tile View in Repository)

3 Discussion

Kunkel, Matthias [mkunkel], June 11, 2015: There is already a similar feature request, see Creating folders in categories. The concerns about this suggestions from 2011 are still the same. I do not see a chance to realise this idea.

Zenzen, Enrico [ezenzen], 24 AUG 2022: This request no longer fulfills the requirements of the Feature Wiki. In consultation with the maintainer I change the status of the feature request to "Redundant / outdated". If the request is still relevant, please update template and mockups.
