Improve Multi-Linguality and Translation

1 Requirements

Multilingual HTML Export
It should be possible to export learning modules in all supported languages in one package. Media elements referenced in multiple languages should be included only one time in the export.
 
Support External Translations of Learning Modules
It should be possible to export a learning module as an XML file for the purpose of translation.

• The export file contains all content in the master language. It will be imported into another ILIAS installation where the translation takes places.
• A new export will be implemented that enables to export only the translated content from the second installation. It will include the original page IDs from the master installation.
• A new import will be implemented, that allows to import the translated content into the original learning module either as a new language or update the content of an existing (non-master) language.

Multilingual Content Snippets
It should be possible that content snippets in media pools support multilinguality.
 
Support External Translation of Content Snippets
It should be possible to export the content snippets of a media pools as an XML file for the purpose of translation to another installation. The workflow should be similar to the one for learning modules.

3 Discussion

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 13 July 2015: We appreciate the features and schedule them for 5.1. Instead of "HTML (German)" "HTML: German" should be used in the drop downs.
