Internal Links for SCORM Modules

1 Requirements

Navigating within a SCORM module which has been created using the ILIAS SCORM editor is right now a quite linear thing. Although it is possible to jump from one SCO to another using the left hand side "navigation" it would be a didactically worthwhile considering something like internal links within the SCORM module.

Since it is not possible to link to single pages within a SCO (is it?), it would be nice to be able to create links (as text or for images / hotspots) which make it possible to jump around using a content-motivated approach. As a side effect common SCORM features like next / previous buttons within the SCORM content would be made possible. This would enable ordinary user to create even more engaging SCORM content without having to switch to external software.

Usability of internal link creation tool / the SCO selector:

  • it should list all available SCOs of the SCORM module
  • it should have shortcut insertion buttons for previous / next SCO
  • it should list the SCOs in a treelike fashion (like the ordinary internal link selector)
