Content Snippets in Wiki Pages

1 Initial Problem

At the time being, content snippets created in media pools cannot be reused in wikis. But this capability would extend the didactic options and benefits of this tool considerably. Tutors could define content snippets with instructions or information in one central space and reuse them in the wikis of related collaboration groups of users. Additionally, the content within these snippets would be save from changes by the users of the wiki and could therefore not be manipulated. Combined with an additional feature "Protected Sections in Wiki Pages" we could even prevent that these content snippets are deleted by the users. So defined page structures could be kept.

2 Conceptual Summary

The ILIAS page editor should support content snippets in wikis, too. Behaviour should be similar to ILIAS learning modules.

• Dropdown for adding page elements on a wiki page will be extended by new entry "Insert Content Snippet" (after "Insert Code")

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 20 MAY 2019 : We highly appreciate this suggestion and schedule it for 6.0 but with an additional configuration of page elements as suggested by Alexander above. This will allow every instalation to control which kind of page elements can be added to pages in the different object types.

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 15 MAY 2023: We highly appreciate this suggestion and accept the feature for ILIAS9. There is no requirement to implement a configuration as stated four years ago - but it would be great if this FR could be implemented to (with 9 or later).
