Reorganising the Personal Desktop

1 Requirements

On this page I would like to collect the different issues concerning the current Personal Desktop and ideas how to improve this main feature of ILIAS in the future. In later stage of the development, this page might be separated into several wiki pages.

1.1 Personal Desktop Screens and Elements

ILIAS 4.4 offers the following screens within the main menu entry "Personal Desktop":

• Main content block: "Selected Items" (order by type | order by location)

2 Status

• Scheduled for: Not scheduled yet (will be set by Jour Fixe)
• Funding: Required / Interest in funding: (please indicate if you are interested to fund this feature)
• Maintainer: (will be set by Jour Fixe)
• Implementation of the feature is done by (company, developer)
• Contract settled: No | Fill in "Yes" if a contract is already settled and add Institution / Organisation in "Funding" row
  
• Tested by / status: (name, e-mail), (status information set after implementation)

4 Discussion

Fabian Kruse, 26.09.14: Improving this would be very helpful for a smoother navigation especially for new users. My preliminary thoughts on the topic can be found in the Mantis bug report MK already linked to.
