Search in blog

1 Requirements

At the time being, users cannot search in a blog posting for a specific search term. The search form is hidden in the blog presentation.
 
It would be great to have a search input form (should be similar to the position of the search input form in wikis) and to search for a term in all postings of the current blog.

4 Discussion

Jour Fixe, 02 Feb 2015: We would like to provide the blog search in the header bar with 5.0.
 
However we are unsure if we want to include a side block for the search with 5.1. The wiki block has been introduced in Wikis at a time where "Search at current position" option has not been included in the top header search yet. Having two places in the UI for the same feature is somehow redundant. Today we could remove the search block in Wikis. The other option would be to provide these kind of blocks at least for all "content" related repository objects (e.g. forums, learning modules, ...). We would like to get some feedback from other users of the community and wait before making a final decision.

Zenzen, Enrico [ezenzen], 05 AUG 2022: This request no longer fulfills the requirements of the Feature Wiki. In consultation with the maintainer I change the status of the feature request to "Redundant / outdated". If the request is still relevant, please update template and mockups.
