Option to disable/hide the Export Profile-Button

1 Requirements

The export-function in the personal profile is not necessary to display in every installation. It makes the view of personal profile overcharged.

There should be an option in the administration - user accounts - settings - common settings - to deactivate and hide the export function.

2 Status

  • Scheduled for: Not scheduled yet (will be set by Jour Fixe)
  • Funding: Option for funding by Douglas Perfumery Germany (no final decision)
  • Maintainer: (will be set by Jour Fixe)
  • Implementation of the feature is done by Qualitus, Cologne.
  • Contract settled: yes
  • Tested by / status: (name, e-mail), (status information set after implementation)

4 Discussion

is the export-function really in use by anyone?

JF 5 Jan 2015: We would like to avoid a larger number of activation options for all features in the administration in general. Therefore we reject this idea. If other institutions support this idea (at least three) we would revise this decision.

However we would like to make it easier to hide tabs per CSS. We suggest to include the (help) screen IDs in the HTML on a top level to make each tab in the system addressable by CSS rules. Matthias will create a separate feature wiki page for this idea.
