By now, automatic assignment of roles to self-registrees is only possible ...

• by e-mail domain.
• for global roles.

It would be a very helpful enhancement being able to configure automatic assignment of roles also ...

• by other user data types.
• for (several) local roles.

User data types conceivable as criteria for automatic role assignment are:

• Institution / Department
• Country (preferably the select version)
• User-defined fields (preferably select fields)
• Language
