Improving Deactivation of LP
1 Requirements
At the time being, the Learning Progress (LP) can be deactivated for every single object. This is good because LP should only be used where it is needed for didactic or administrative purposes.
But in current ILIAS 4.3, the Learning Progress still is shown even if the LP is deactivated (I know that the data is in the database anyway...). The following screenshot shows the LP of another user (not me) including LP status and usage data.
It would be much better if a module with deactivated LP really disables all LP related views and has not even an own LP tab. Therefore I suggest to move the activation / deactivation of the LP to the object settings and hide the entire tab Learning Progress when the LP is not activated.
IMHO this should become a default behaviour for additional services in modules in general. Therefore I have added a related guideline for this: Activation of Services in Modules
