Plugin Interface for Payment

1 Requirements

At the time being, the payment services like PayPal or BMF are an integrated part of the payment code in ILIAS. This has several disadvantages:

  • Each new service has to be implemented as a core function and can only be done for the next major release.
  • All implemented services are offered to every installtion even if they cannot use it due to specific restrictions, see BMF.
  • Institutions that want to implement a quick connection of ILIAS to their payment service can only do that by patching ILIAS.
It would make much more sense to remove the current payment services and to implement a generic interface that several payment services can use.

4 Discussion

JF 20 Jan 2014: We highly appreciat this feature and schedule it for 4.5. Paypal and BMF should be externalised to a plugin then.

PP 29 Jul 2016: What is the status of this feature? I see that the shop functionality willl disappear in ILIAS 5.2 but I don't see any news about this plugin being implemented in 5.2.
