Help Icon in the Page Editor Panel

1 Requirements

Once I have opend the page editor by clicking on the little placeholder I have no chance to get help.

The greyish page editor panel does not offer a help icon. Yet it would be very helpful. If users have opend the help before the help will be available. But this is in depth knowledge not everybody might have.

I am fully aware of the issue that wikis and learning modules use slightly different versions of the page editor.
Nevertheless I would like to ask for adding such a button.

3 Discussion

AntoniaWeber, 27.07.2015: I support this feature. It should be possible to open and read the existing texts since the page editor is not so intuitive.

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], Dec 07, 2015: A help button should be added to the editor screen (similar to existing help button). Maintainer and product manager support this as a usability fix for 5.1.x. There are no objections from Kitchen Sink project.

Kunkel, Matthias [mkunkel], 16 APR 2020 : Thanks to the Page Layout Revision for ILIAS 6, this feature request is no longer needed. Access to the online help is also given when editing within the ILIAS Page Editor, see below.

4 Implementation

Implemented as part of the Page Layout Revision (Desktop)
