Restrict Use of Object Templates
1 Requirements
Up to now, you can provide object templates but you cannot enforce their use or restrict it to specific target groups.
Once an object template is activated, it can be used anywhere in the Repository by anyone who just has the permission to create an object of the type the template supports.
Moreover, users can always fall back upon the standard process of object creation instead of using the template(s).
However, often specific users are supposed to only create, e.g., certain types of courses in certain categories.
It would be a big added value if you could limit the use of individual object templates to specific subtrees (as with content styles), including also the standard process of object creation.

Zenzen, Enrico [ezenzen], 18 AUG 2022: This request no longer fulfills the requirements of the Feature Wiki. In consultation with the maintainer I change the status of the feature request to "Redundant / outdated". If the request is still relevant, please update template and mockups.
