Data Collection - Easy Editing of Multiple Fields
1 Requirements
Deleting several fields of a table at once is currently not possible but would make life easier if one has noticed that the intended data structure needs to be changed. In 4.3 you need to delete every single field by using the delete option in the Actions drop-down.
This usability problem could be solved by introducing the mulitple item handling that is known from other object types in ILIAS: checkboxes in front of every row entry and a button for Delete at top and bottom (and other options that can be assigned to multiple items at once - not "Edit" and "View".

MST, 14 Apr 2014: I support this request.
JF 12 May 2014: We support this feature and schedule it for 4.5.
HJL, 22. Sept. 2014: The title and the requirements of this feature-requests are confusing.
Title: "Data Collection - Easy Editing of Multiple Fields"
Description: "Deleting several fields of a table at once is currently not possible but would make life easier if one has noticed that the intended data structure needs to be changed. In 4.3 you need to delete every single […], checkboxes in front of every row entry and a button for Delete at top and bottom (and other options that can be assigned to multiple items at once - not "Edit" and "View".
Question 1: The title of this feature requests asks for "Easy Editing", the Description just describes "Deleting". I always thought that easy editing of multiple entries is the main goal.
Question 2: The description says: "Deleting several fields of the table at once is currenntly not possible but would make ...", but the description also says: "... checkboxes in front of every row entry and a button for Delete at top and bottom (and other options that can be assigned to multiple items at one - not "Edit" and "View". Well the fields-table only has "Edit" and "Delete"-action menu entry, but the Content-table does have "View", "Edit" and "Delete"- Action menu.
I thought the problem that "you need to delete every single field" IN THE CONTENT-tab is the main-usability-problem of the datacollection?
MST, 23. Sept 2014:
@HJL:
-> Question 1: The title is confusing. But the description is clear. The feature is about deleting multiple fields at once.
-> Question 2: The description is about deleting fields and not records. Today we have implemented also the possibility to delete multiple records at once.
5 Implementation
This feature is implemented in the trunk. All fields except standard fields are selectable for deletion.
We implemented also the possibility to delete multiple records at once
