Sending Mails From Learning Progress

1 Requirements

Tutors often need to notify a certain number of course or group members for particular reasons, e.g. because they have not started the course yet or spent much more time for the course than others. At the time being, ILIAS is not supporting such a need sufficiently because it does not allow to send mails from the learning progress tab as it does from the members tab.

It would be very helpful to have the possibility of sending mails to selected users straight from the tab Learning Progress. This would require to have checkboxes in front of each row and a "Send Mail" button on top and bottom of the table. The mail form should support placeholders (like known from other mail forms) and have a permalink to the module by default.

3 Discussion

JF 14 Oct 2013: We appreciate the feature and schedule it for 4.5. The checkboxes should be available on the "User/Participants" and on the "Matrix" screen.

SFraysse 21 Feb 2014: As discussed, the capability to select users in reports could lead to several actions (e.g. sending email, registering users to another course, etc.). This could be acheived by a combo box with all the possible actions to perform on the list of selected users, or with a "copy users" feature (then a "paste users" feature at several locations in ILIAS: mailbox, registration, etc.).

Matthias Kunkel, November 05, 2014: Postponed to 5.1 due to missing time for implementing the feature before beta release.

4 Implementation

, 20 Aug 2015: This feature has been implemented. Mail templates of a parent course / scorm module are available (Course mail templates).
