We went through Mantis and had a overlook about all open issues reported or modified since the last Jour Fixe. All issues were screened and assigned to the responsible developers. We discussed in detail:

8784: No Redirect On Login When Session-Timeout: The idea is to try to find the place in the code that generates the failure message "The page you have chosen is only accessible for registered users". Here the redirect to the login page should be done - if possible.
7992: Layout Needs More Padding: Alex will have a look on it.
6504: Permissions of a blocked role can be overwritten: We will postpone this to the next JF where Stefan will participate again.
9733: Layout Problems In Forum Posting Notification: Michael will take care of the bug.
10196: Course title not linked if joining is possible: We will postpone this to the next JF where Stefan will participate again.

3 Developing ILIAS 4.4

3.1 Developing Issues 4.4

Remove from Desktop for Multiple Objects: Leifos will implement a solution as described in "Description".
SCORM 2004: option to set cmi.exit automatically to suspend: Uwe Kohnle will offer the usability fix for 4.4.
Set Specific Value For IE-compatible Mode: We re-schedule this as a usability fix for 4.4.
SCORM 1.2: Determination of session time by ILIAS instead of SCO: To make this consistent with SCORM 2004 we schedule this as usability fix for 4.4.
SCORM 2004: switch to set cmi.learner_id to LoginId instead of numeric Id: Since we would like to be able to run through the test suite to be able to claim SCORM compliance, we schedule this as a fix (as an option) for 4.4. The default behaviour should be kept.
Extended review mode management for SCORM 2004: We schedule this options as a usability improvements, since SCORM contents sometimes expect different behaviours here.
SCORM Offline Player: We shortly discussed the SCORM offline player today, especially the export/import of tracking data. The existing tracking data import feature confuses the users. We should re-design this feature and support a real import of tracking data as needed by the offline player. The main goal of the current import feature is to set single learning progress status for learners (e.g. status to passed) manually by tutors. This feature should be implemented in another way. We will continue to discuss the offline player and related features during its development.

3.2 Feature Requests - Funding Available

Configurable TinyMCE: We appreciate the idea and schedule it for 4.4. In our understanding this is mainly a user interface improvement of the existing TinyMCE settings (multi-selection list of tags). Our main problem is, that TinyMCE service in ILIAS is currently (after H. Schottmüller left the development) not well maintained. It would be good if this development would also settle the responsibility for the maintenance of this service. Michael Jansen will check, whether Databay can take this over.
Links in Online Help Texts to make Cross-References: We appreciate the feature and schedule it for 4.4.
Taxonomies for Categories: We support the idea but see the need to work out the concepts and user interface in more detail, see our comments above. We schedule the development for 4.4.
Tag Cloud for Courses and Groups: We appreciate this feature and schedule it for 4.4. However the title of this feature request currently includes topics (taxonomy/search) that are not mentioned anymore. If it stays it that way, we would like to rename the page to "Tag Cloud for Courses and Groups". We continue to discuss the concept details and the user interface.
Search in combination with tagging and taxonomy This feature request is too vague. What exactly should be offered in ILIAS, additionally to the features that we already have?
- The request Taxonomies for Categories already suggests to (optionally) put taxonomy terms into the keyword settings as well. This makes them searchable.
- The thesaurus integration should be moved to a separate feature request page.
- The only new feature we envisage is that personal tags should be searchable.
Improved Filter and Taxonomy Presentation for Glossaries: We appreciate this improvement and schedule it for 4.4. If possible the filter section of tables should be decoupled from tables itself and be usable without them. Alexander will provide a prototype of the user interface and we will continue to discuss the feature afterwards.
Advanced Metadata for Glossary Terms: We appreciate the feature and schedule it for 4.4. We would love to have this feature for Wikis, too.
Automatically link terms in LM to glossaryWe appreciate the feature and schedule it for 4.4. We will continue the discussion with Stefan what could be possible in the future with the advanced metadata:
- Currenntly the metadata sets are defined in the administration and activated for all objects of one type.
- It could be desirable that the activation is done per object in the object.
- Additionallay it could be desirable to define the metadata set within the object.
Option to hide header/footer in Print View: We appreciate the feature as described under "Funded Feature for 4.4". However we would like to add a checkbox in the editor panel that activates the automatic linking of the content currently being edited (and saved).
Rating for Learning Modules and Files: We appreciate the feature and schedule it for 4.4. The rating function should be availbale in the action drop down (similar to comment/note). In general this feature should be avialable for all object types (if activated in the administration). A setting in courses/groups should be added whether ratings (and comments!) are activated for new objects or not.
