Tabs

Tab Hook Plugins

1 Requirements

With the current User Interface Hook you have the possibility to change almost any output on the User Interface. While this can be used for a wide range of applications in my personal view, the most common thing you want to be able to do is to add a tab or subtab in a certain context. This is already possible with the current state of the plug-in, but rendering your own site after clicking on this tab is hardly possible without small patches. The suggestion is to add an additional hook plug-in henceforth named “TabHookPlugin”. When implementing such a plug-in you define the context (eg. “crs”, “adm”, etc.) in which you want to add a tab and what its name and id should be and when clicking the tab the control flow will be given to the plugin. For the subtab the id of the tab has to be given in addition. Furthermore this would allow to add tabs to another plugin. If we define our context to e.g. “xlvo” and the “xlvo” plug-supports the tab hook, we could add tabs there as well.
