Search in combination with tagging and taxonomy

1 Requirements

Taxonomy and OpenThesaurus combined with tagging (see paper "Semantischer Mehrwert durch eine intelligente Kombination von Suche, Taxonomie/Thesaurus und Social Tagging/Metadatenden") can provide users a good fundament for distinct search entries. With an auto completion of terms these distinct search entries are suitable for a directed search and are a good supplement of existing search potentials in ILIAS.

4 Discussion

JF 29 Apr 2013: This feature request is too vague. What exactly should be offered in ILIAS, additionally to the features that we already have?

• The request Taxonomies for Categories already suggests to (optionally) put taxonomy terms into the keyword settings as well. This makes them searchable.
• The thesaurus integration should be moved to a separate feature request page.
• The only new feature we envisage is that personal tags should be searchable.
