Maintenance Jobs

1 Requirements

Features like the system check or the deletion of old mails should be implemented in a generic way.

1. abstract classes for maintenance jobs
2. maintenance jobs can be defined by components
3. all maintenance jobs can be listed on the current system check page, but also on the administration screens of the single components (in a "generic" way)
4. maintenance jobs can be included in the cron job
5. maintenance jobs can provide a "dry run" feature

JF 7 Jan 2013: We highly appreciate this feature and would like to schedule it for 4.4. We are looking for funding as it enables requested features like Empty Mail Trash via System Check.

The PH Zürich is very interested in partial (?) funding.
