Clickable Links in Personal Profile

1 Initial Problem

Typical information of the personal profile, which usually has a link, are not links in ILIAS.
This affects URLs and mailing addresses.

With regard to this forum post and these minutes to the JF agenda from 2012/05/30 I would like to suggest this feature:
Right now the URLs which Users add to their personal profile are not "clickable" which is not so cool. Well, they should be, and that's about it. ;)

URLs should automatically be included / interpreted as links.
Mail addresses should be clickable and trigger a mailto. For ILIAS-internal mails a separate link is available.

9 Discussion

JourFixe, ILIAS [jourfixe], 24 SEP 2018 : We highly appreciate this suggestion and schedule it for 5.4 with the following changes:

• The existing e-mail input field in user data will offer entered addresses as mailto link.
• Adding URLs to websites as UDF will only be supported if UDF will be migrated to Custom Metadata for users (needs additional feature request for 6.0).

Kunkel, Matthias [mkunkel], 02 MAY 2022 : We highly appreciate this suggestion and re-schedule the feature for ILIAS 9. We accept this implementation without migrating UDF to Custom Metadata due to the status of the maintainership of the user service. And please complete the sections for Accessibility and Security.
