Individual Registration Codes to Join Course

1 Requirements

As of now there is no real access control to courses in a mass user environment, especially if you don't have access to local user accounts. You can set a password but it won't be long until the whole university knows it. I'd like to have something that is analogous to registration codes for self-registration of an account.

Imagine you have an external webside where people enroll for a special course (e.g. for a prep course), and maybe have to pay for this course, too. If you want to make sure that only people who paid their check get in the course and you have as little work as possible those people should join the course themselves (because there's no batch join in courses like there is for new user accounts and you don't want to use the "Request membership" setting because then someone has to actively check and add every participant by hand). The idea is that ILIAS generates n course codes and every user that successfully enrolls externally gets one (you send it to him/her per e-mail after successfull enrollment). After logging in into ILIAS the user can then use this code to join the course s/he enrolled to. Like with registration codes every course code can only be used once.
