MB, MJ, 29 Jun 2012: The chat maintainers welcome this idea. Such a feature could even lead to a spell checking service for general use in ILIAS and it is our understanding, that the product as a whole would profit from that. With the bundled enchant library in PHP since version 5.3 we also see this would not be a "century project", even with a capable spell checking engine involved. (See: Enchant Usage Example)

"ILIAS wide" sounds interesting. I like streamlined solutions. Just a little "but": Maybe in the test&assessment-tool spellchecking is not always wanted. I'm thinking of language tests.

JF 9 Jul 2012: We like the idea, but we need a feasible technical solution for it. How will it work in the user interface? What about browser based spell checking?

Samoila, Oliver [oliver.samoila], 08 MAR 2024 : Since it is standard text input (as in a form), the spell check is also supported.
