Show detailed progress in course overview

1 Description

A tutor does not have sufficient overview when looking at the matrix-view of learning progress statistics in the course.

The tutor wants to see at a glance which items must still be completed by the students in his classroom, so we would like to see the individual (scorm)subsections in the overview.

It is possible to look at the detailed progress in the scorm itself, but that is a list of everyone that uses that scorm, not only the students of the relevant classroom.

I find it hard to explain properly, here is a screenshot: (working code with a few rough edges)

When you hover the mouse over the small dots, you will get a tooltip with the subtask name.

4 Discussion

GA 17-04-2012: I have got a working version, but there are still some tests that I want to run before I submit a patch.

Matthias Kunkel, 04 Nov 2013: Postponed to 4.5 due to missing resources.

S.Fraysse, 21 Feb 2014: A simple and complementary solution could be to make the objects titles clickable, with a direct link to the Learning Progress report of each object.

Zenzen, Enrico [ezenzen], 24 AUG 2022: This request no longer fulfills the requirements of the Feature Wiki. In consultation with the maintainer I change the status of the feature request to "Redundant / outdated". If the request is still relevant, please update template and mockups.

5 Follow-Up

GA 17-04-2012: Patch mailed to Alex.

JF 11 Jun 2012: We think that this view should only be an optional one, which is selected by the user, if objects with subitems are part of the table. The user could then e.g. click a "Show more details" link. However we are not sure how this would fit into the GUI yet. We schedule it for 4.4, but keep the discussion open and wait for other opinions and suggestions.
