We need a little bit more specification on the work flow here. How are invitations created? Where/how do invitations appear, how does the user confirm these invitations? In general we appreciate this idea.

JF 30 Nov 2009: We still like the idea. Any suggestions concerning the workflow?
I will suggest a more specific work flow later but for now I consider the existing course feature 'Join Session'.
When creating an appointment/session the administrator is provided with the option of inviting people. If cron-jobs are activated the invitation can be sent at a predetermined time, i.e. 24 hours before the appointment as a reminder. The default status is 'unanswered' other states are 'yes', 'no' and 'maybe' (to emulate Facebook).
A future project would also be to sent reminders as SMS and/or receive answers using SMS.
Zenzen, Enrico [ezenzen], 05 AUG 2022: This request no longer fulfills the requirements of the Feature Wiki. In consultation with the maintainer I change the status of the feature request to "Redundant / outdated". If the request is still relevant, please update template and mockups.
