SOAP upload for User exercise solution

1 Description

i'm trying to programm an interface with a java client. I want to communicate with an ILIAS exercise.

I have the following task:

First a user can login and download the given files of an exercise. After that he should be allowed to upload his files to that exercise.

And here is the problem. The first step can be done with the SOAP administration interface and the getExercise method. The problem is the upload of my solution of the exercise.

JF 10 Oct 2011: What is the general user scenario behind this functionality? Currently we do not see a need to support learner related workflows through the SOAP interface. The SOAP interface is primary adressing administrative tasks.

JF 7 Nov 2011: Thanks for the link, we now understand the requirement. Still we do not plan to add support for learner related scenarios in the SOAP interface in general. The reason is that too many tasks needed to be supported and the maintenance effort would be too high. The number of users asking for this is too low in contrast to administrative tasks. What could be developed is a plugin slot for the SOAP interface, that would make it possible to extend the SOAP interface with plugins.
