Job/Task Analysis

1 Description

A Job Analysis Module allows the HR staff to develop complete job specifications based on Job Duties, Tasks, Sub-tasks and task elements. Attaching Skills, Knowledge and Attitude to each task with level for each. Also assigning the difficulty, Importance and Frequency for each task. Once a decision is made weather a task required training or not, the Performance Objectives and Enabling objectives get developed. The results of all that allows the user of Ilias to define the learning objectives and develop training based on the Job requirements.

The idea comes from the Canadian Individualized Training and Education Sysyem (CFITES). We have developed the system for use by the Space Industry. The idea is to use Ilias as the main component for LMS and attach our Job Analysis module to serve as the front end for ILIAS.

Burhan, Dhafir [dburhan], March 08, 2011: We have designed a complete Training Management System in the past. It is a client/server application developed using PowerBuilder and Oracle. We would like to use Ilias instead of developing the system all over again in a web enabled technology. We have the design and specifications of the system and what we need is to develop only the Job/Task Analysis module and link it to the rest of Ilias.

Did anyone develop that?

Any ideas? We are willing to contribute to the development of this module.

JF 28 Mar 2011: There is at least one feature coming with 4.2, the skill management, that is related to these requirements. Your concept is very interesting, but we need to discuss with the community if such an extension should become a core feature of ILIAS (e.g. ILIAS 4.3, expected mid 2012). A detailed specification would help us to have a basis for such a discussion.

Famula, Thomas [tfamula] 12 MAY 2022: I am setting this request to outdated because it no longer meets the current requirements of the feature wiki. If the request is still relevant, please update the template and mockups.
